Are you making a Fitness Resolution this year? Beware: more than half of all New Year's Resolutions go forgotten by March. However, this doesn’t have to be you! Whatever fitness goal you have for yourself this New Year is achievable. Here are our 5 Trainer Tips to help you keep yourself accountable, and achieve those goals!
Lay out your workout clothes before you go to bed.
This might sound trivial. However, prepping your equipment before hitting the gym can be a defining factor to whether or not you make it to the gym. Before going to bed, lay out your workout clothes, shoes, socks, everything! Bonus points if it’s a gym outfit that makes you feel confident!
Plan your workout
The gym can be intimidating, we know. One simple way to avoid gym intimidation is to be prepared. Plan your workout ahead of time and schedule every single thing you want to do in the gym that day. Don’t know what exercises to do? A few sessions with a personal trainer can fix that. Having a trainer with you will not only help with the intimidation factor at the gym, but they will teach you the correct form, how to use the different equipment, and give you the tools for long-term success on your own!
If you’re not feeling motivated, take a fitness class
Sometimes we aren’t feeling motivated. That’s okay, motivation comes and goes. The key here is consistency. If you don’t feel like lifting today, take a spin class! Try out an aerobic workout, Butt’s and Guts, or Tread and Shred! The classes are there for your utilization! You are still the one burning the calories and losing the weight even if you weren’t the one to plan the workout.
Schedule it.
Set a reminder on your phone to get active. Set multiple alarms if you know you won’t respond to the first one. Do whatever you need to do in order to get yourself up and off to train! The secret ingredient to success is consistency. There’s no special diet, workout, or secret regimen to help you lose weight. If you can get yourself to the gym on a regular basis and eat nutritious foods, you will see results after time, we promise!
Pack your snacks the night before
Last but most certainly not least, pack those snacks! You don’t have to spend hours preparing a week's worth of meals. Grab an apple, yogurt, and some nuts and throw them in a bag to grab before you leave for your workout! Making a habit of preparation can be incredibly beneficial to achieving your fitness goals. After setting out your clothes, set up your snacks. Go to bed knowing that you’re fully prepared to crush a workout the next day!
Consistency and preparation are key to achieving your fitness goals in 2022. Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle, or tone up; it’s up to you to make the necessary changes in your routine! Motivation comes and goes, but preparation and discipline are here to stay. Meeting your goals is only as complicated as you make it! Be kind to yourself. Create achievable goals. And lastly, love yourself enough to make those goals a reality. Do this for YOU!
